Association of Intellectual Property Firms Annual Meeting in San Francisco
Posted on Aug 16, 2017 in Events
The Association of Intellectual Property Firms (AIPF) is an international association of independent specialty firms that devote the majority of their practice to patent, trademark and copyright law. The AIPF is devoted to encouraging its members to improve business management skills, understand the legal and business needs of their clients, develop relationships with the legal academic community, and to engage with leaders from business and industries worldwide.
This year the AIPF’s Annual Meeting takes place from September 13th – 15th at the Marriott Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel in San Francisco, California. The Annual Meeting is an excellent opportunity for IP practitioners to meet in person and establish personal and business connections, as well as obtain beneficial information in a cordial environment. This year’s theme is “An Age of Uncertainty: How Do Boutique IP Firms Respond?” The Annual Meeting provides an impressive lineup of in-house counsel, international presenters, topics and networking opportunities. Speakers include:
- Robert Aronoff, IP Counsel, Pluritas LLC
- John Cabeca, Director or Silicon Valley USPTO
- Scott Evans, Associate General Counsel, Adobe Systems Inc.
- Steven Horowitz, Founder & Principal, Ovidian Group LLC
- Jason Rogers, IP Counsel, Ford Motor Company
- Rebecca Stroder, Vice President-Legal, Fire-Eye Inc.
- Jonathan Stroud, Chief Patent Counsel, Unified Patents Inc.
- Bryan Zielinski, Assistant General Counsel, Pfizer Inc.
An important presentation this year will be an unique three-hour interactive program devoted entirely to an innovative and interactive workshop stressing “Social Media and Personal Branding Essentials,” led by Susan Kostal (noted legal marketing & content strategists.) During this workshop, all attendees will be instructed in how to improve their personal branding and messaging. Following the instructional portion of the program, the participants will work in small groups to learn how to apply those principles to social media. Not only will this hands-on session help participants to immediately apply the principles taught, it will be a great opportunity to meet and work closely with other conference attendees. For every attorney faced with the challenge of creating and maintaining a personal brand in the digital age, this will be an invaluable opportunity.
