In the online editorial, she discussed how her patented air purification system has increased the success rate for in vitro fertilization patients by nearly 50 percent. Other applications of her patented system may reduce the spread of communicable diseases such as influenza, tuberculosis, and measles. The technology may also help address the major problem of hospital acquired infections, thereby helping to protect a wide range of patients from infants in the neonatal intensive care unit, to patients in the operating room, and to the elderly in long-term care facilities.
